Residency Visa Requirements

Launched in 2022, Bahrain’s Golden Residency Visa is available to residents and non-residents, as well as their families. The program grants qualifying investors, retirees, and highly skilled individuals a 10-year renewable residence permit, with the ability to sponsor permits for immediate family members. Previously, most foreign nationals in Bahrain were limited to two-year renewable residency terms.

The Golden Residency Visa allows holders to work in Bahrain and provides multiple entries and exits from the Kingdom. Visas can be renewed indefinitely, provided the eligibility criteria continue to be met.To qualify, existing residents of Bahrain must meet the requirements under one of four categories:

  • Applicants must own Bahraini property valued at least BHD 130,000.
  • Professionals / Skilled Employees – Must live in Bahrain five years, earning BHD 2,000 monthly.
  • Retirement – Retirees must live in Bahrain five years with BHD 4,000 monthly.
  • Recognised talent in Bahrain with exceptional academic, entrepreneurial, scientific, or sports skills.
